2015 opened with a Literary Lunch with the headline speaker the Yorkshire Shepherdess, Amanda Owen.
Among the many events during the week-long Festival, Call My Wine Bluff pitted six different wines against three ‘experts’. The Leeds Symphony Orchestra entertained with some classics, including Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture and Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances.
There was a luscious lunchtime where Chef Graham demonstrated a three-course meal. The St Aidan’s Swing Band rocked a packed audience in the aisles. There was an Antiques evening, a Dog Show, a talk by the British Library, and a visiting Theatre troupe.
The Scrabble afternoon served up the most scrumptious afternoon tea and the Festival was rounded off with a Beatles tribute band Beatles for Sale.
